Predicted Top 100 Boys' Names 2024

As I mentioned in my last post, the new name data comes out this Friday. Now that I predicted the new top 100 girls' names, I move on to the boys' names.

I think four names will leave the boys' top 100:

  • Easton became a top 100 staple in 2012 and is back where he was at his debut (#96). Since he dropped 16 spots in 2023, he can easily slip out in 2024. With Ethan also on the decline, Easton is losing his zeal.
  • Jaxon has been a top 100 choice since 2010, his popularity probably being boosted as a creative respelling of Jackson. Having dropped 19 spots to #86 in 2023, falling as few as 15 spots can get him out of the top 100. Jackson is declining, too.
  • Jordan has been a top 100 staple since 1982. In 2023, he has fallen six spots to #98. After over 40 years as a chart-topper, Jordan is on his way out.
  • Landon has been a top 100 name since 2003 and, in 2023, has fallen 10 spots to the same rank he was at his debut (#97). Landon, alongside Jordan, feels slightly dated, so it's about time for him to leave.
Replacing these names will be four new entries, which I think will be:
  • Adriel has risen 26 spots to #113 in 2023, meaning just a 14-spot rise can make him popular. He is an exotic Old Testament name in the key of Ezra and Micah, as well as an update to longtime favorite Adrian.
  • Atlas rose 16 spots to #112 in 2023; just 12 spots and he'll be a top 100 name. His mythological roots and bold style allow him to fit in with current favorites like Maverick as well as girls' choices such as Luna and Aurora.
  • August jumped 5 spots to #104, and has only to rise 4 spots to return to the top 100. He was last a top 100 favorite in 1891, making it time for his return. August's nature vibe allows him to fit in alongside girls' favorites such as Hazel and Ivy, too.
  • Myles, a respelling of current favorite Miles, rose six spots to #106 in 2023. He has only six spots to rise until he breaks the top 100.
