Disney Boys' Names
What do Pinocchio, Mickey, and Peter have in common? They belong to characters in Disney animated shorts and movies.
However, as with girls' names, Disney boys' names aren't necessarily those from the movies. Instead, they reflect the values of Walt Disney; vintage names with built-in dreams that are neither childish nor heavy. These names sound child-friendly but appropriate for adults.
Here are some boys' names infused with Disney values that will especially appeal to Disney fans:
Arthur
Arthur "Wart" is the protagonist who draws out the sword and becomes king in The Sword in the Stone. Disney Legend Art Babbitt injects the name with more dreams. Nickname "Art" and the aardvark of children's literature and television fame add on a friendly vibe.
Calvin
Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes comics might bring up childhood memories. On the accomplished side, there's Protestant reformer John Calvin (1509-1564) and former President Calvin Coolidge (1872-1933).
Cecil
The name of a child in To Kill a Mockingbird, Cecil has some nostalgia attached to it. Several famous people, including filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille (1881-1959), also wore this vintage name.
Frank
Frank Wells (1932-1994) served as president of the Walt Disney Company during the early Disney Renaissance. Composer Frank Churchill (1901-1942) also composed music for the Golden Era (1937-1942) films. Former president Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882-1945) adds more dreams to the name. Plus, when extended to Franklin, there's the animated turtle of children's television fame.
Fred
This name belonged to children's television host Fred Rogers (1928-2003) along with Ebenezer Scrooge's nephew in A Christmas Carol. In the Disney world, Fred MacMurray (1908-1991) starred in productions such as The Absent-Minded Professor.
Henry
This name has belonged to characters in many children's properties, including Thomas and Friends and Horrid Henry. There have also been many achievers with this friendly name, including several kings and industrialist Henry Ford (1863-1947).
Hugo
Victor Hugo (1802-1885) wrote The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which inspired the 1996 Disney aniamted film. There's also a gargoyle in the film by the name.
Leo
Leo appears as a cute three-letter name, but it has belonged to several famous popes and rulers. Its meaning of "lion" also helps build confidence.

This classic name connects to Oliver and Company, which is based on Dickens's novel Oliver Twist. There's also Disney Legends Oliver Wallace (1887-1963), who composed music for animated Disney films, and animator Ollie Johnston (1912-2008), one of Walt Disney's "Nine Old Men."
Oscar
Walt Disney named the annual Academy Awards before he even made Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. This classic name sounds both nostalgic (thanks to Oscar the Grouch in Sesame Street) and accomplished. One famous namesake is writer Oscar Wilde (1854-1900), who wrote fairy tales himself.
Otto
Todd Parr's colorful standing dog, though nostalgic, is not the only namesake; Otto has been the name of several kings and a saint. There was also German chemist Otto Hahn (1879-1968).
Roy
The name of Walt Disney's brother and nephew, along with other Disney Legends, Roy is a simple name full of dreams.
Stanley
Flat Stanley of children's literature fame easily makes this name accessible to kids. There's also Stan Lee (1922-2018), who wrote the Marvel comics.
Wilbur
Wilbur is the pig in E. B. White's Charlotte's Web, giving the name a dose of nostalgia. Wilbur Wright (1871-1948), one of the plane-building Wright brothers, gives it dreams.
