24 Names for 2024

With the first week of 2024 being nearly over, it is time to list 24 names-12 girls' names and 12 boys' names-within the top 1000 that are most likely to rise in 2024 based on current trends and/or pop culture influences. 

12 Girls' Names:

Aurelia

Amelia and Aurora have both been on the rise lately, motivating Aurelia to do the same. Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerburg also have a baby daughter with the name.


Clover

Clover, having a similar modern natural vibe to Willow, also mixes the sounds of neoclassic Chloe, the middle "v" of Evelyn, and the "er" ending of Harper. Plus, Meghan McCain and Ben Domenech's nearly one-year-old daughter is Clover Jade.


Estella

Stella has been back for a while now; the equally vintage but more elaborate Estella is catching up. In her 2021 titular film, Disney villain Cruella reinforces her birth name's glamorous style.


Florence

British actor Florence Pugh (I'm using gender-neutral language here) has been rising in fame over the past few years. Liv Lo and Henry Golding also had an infant with the revival-ready vintage name.


Ivy

Daisy Lowe and Jordan Saul had a daughter named Ivy Love this past year. With Ava declining, this natural mini name could easily take its place. 


Lorelei

Lorelei fits in with our current trend of mystic literary gems along with being the baby daughter of Patti Murin and Colin Donnell. 


Marceline

With the company's centennial celebration occurring this past year, the name of Walt Disney's hometown in Missouri could become a hit among Disney fans. It also serves as an alternative to tired Madeline.


Marigold

With Juniper nearly in the top 100, the similarly structured but more vintage Marigold has room to rise. Short form "Goldie" gives it more potential.  


Rosalina

For parents seeking twists on classic names, Rosalina is easily accessible because of the video game character and as an elegant choice in the footsteps of Isabella. 


Scottie

Allison Kuch and Isaac Rochell had a daughter named Scottie Bee this past year. It doesn't just follow in Charlie's footsteps, but Scottie is a potential nickname for the presumably nickname-proof Scarlett. 


Winnie

As with Hattie, the nickname is coming back before the full name. Like Marceline, Winnie could especially become a hit among Disney-loving parents. 


Wren

The tailored bird name, belonging to John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's youngest son, remains mostly feminine in use and has recently entered the top 200. 


12 Boys' Names:

Banks

Hilary Duff gave this name for a daughter not too long ago. However, with Brooks in the top 100, Banks fits in better with male trends.


Beau

Nicole and Luke Combs had a son by the name this past year. It is a modern rustic choice with a timeless sound and style similar to the feminine Scarlett (that's why it has recently entered the top 100).


Eden

As Eden becomes more popular for girls, parents are also embracing the paradise-inspired name for boys. It serves as an alternative to Aidan and Ethan.


Enzo

Vintage Ezra is nearing the top 20. Similar-sounding Enzo, though more Italian than vintage, is possibly rising as an alternative.


Mack

Vintage Mack rhymes with classic Jack, giving it the potential to rise as an alternative. Dee Devlin and Conor McGregor had a son with the name in November. 


Neo

Names meaning "new," particularly Nova, has been rising for boys and girls alike. Neo, rhyming with classic Leo, is an accessible alternative.


Ocean

As River becomes more popular for boys (and girls), parents are searching for more possible nature names for boys. Ocean is an easily accessible alternative.


Otis

Ruby Stewart and Jake Kalic named their young son Otis, a vintage name that is making its way back to the top. Some parents of young kids might also know the name from the show Get Rolling with Otis.


Rome

This place name, having been used by Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy this past year, updates longtime popular choice Roman. 


Sullivan

The young son of Kate Chastain, Sullivan is not only an elaborate surname-name but a nod to Monsters Inc for fans of Disney. 


Valentino

With Valentina being a popular hit for girls, Valentino could rise for boys. The goat in Disney's recent animated film Wish might contribute to the name's rise despite its mixed reception. 


Zen

Today's parents enjoy unconventional spiritual names beyond those from the Bible or of the saints. Zen could also update Zane.
