Predicted Top 100 Boys' Names 2020

I just predicted the new top 100 girls' names. Now, let's move on to the boys' names.

These are the names I think will leave the top 100:

  • Adam (#90)-Adam is a timeless classic that is associated with the first man mentioned in the Bible. However, after nearly fifty years in the top 100, Adam deserves some rest. It dropped eleven spots between 2018 and 2019, too. Falling eleven more spots would put it in the 100s.
  • Evan (#96)-Evan is a classic variation of John along with Jack. Yet, while Jack is rising, Evan is falling. Rhyming names Kevin and Devin are already out of favor, so it only makes sense for Evan to leave the top 100.
  • Kayden (#97)-The "ayden" names dominated the 2000s yet started falling in the 2010s. The 2020s might mark the end of all "ayden" names, including Kayden.
  • Parker (#98)-While Parker is becoming more common for girls, it's falling in use for boys. By the time Parker, if ever, becomes a top 100 girls' staple, it will be out of the boys' top 100.
If four names leave the top 100, then four new names must come in. Here are my predicted newcomers:
  • Emmett (#105)-If Emma has been a top 10 staple in recent years, then it makes sense for the masculine Emmett to become a top 100 boys' staple. It fits in with double-"t" names like Wyatt and Everett, too, and has jumped nine spots between 2018 and 2019.
  • Bennett (#108)-Bennett is a tailored spin on classic Benjamin that sounds phonetically similar to Emmett. It jumped twelve spots between 2018 and 2019, meaning it could become popular if it jumps just ten more spots. If Emmett and Bennett both hit the top 100 soon, double-"t" names will become a boys' trend.
  • Brooks (#109)-Parents are loving surname-names for boys and girls these days. Brooks is one of the next surname-names to become popular. If it jumped 52 spots in 2019, then it will almost certainly become common in 2020. Brooks also has a natural connection, adding to its appeal.
  • Waylon (#113)-Waylon was originally a country singer with the last name Jennings. Ever since his death in 2002, Waylon has been rising. Rising 29 spots in 2019, Waylon is not far from the top.
