Best Names for Fall

Now that it's November, Fall is approaching an end. Before it ends, I want to list my ten favorite Fall-inspired names for each gender. 

In order to qualify as a Fall-inspired name, a name must:

  • have connections to the season, whether it's a tree name, Fall-inspired color, or a name tied to an Autumn month.
Here are some names that are perfect for a child born in the Fall:

GIRLS' NAMES:

Autumn (#82)-Autumn is the obvious name for a child born in the Fall. It's simply another word for Fall. 

Cornelia (unranked)-Its first syllable of "corn" brings to mind the common Fall attraction of corn mazes. Cornelia makes a great alternative to Cora and Amelia.

Ember (#193)-Ember connects to campfires, a common Fall event. It's included in September and November as well. 

Fawn (unranked)-Tying to a deer and a yellowish tan color, Fawn is perfect of the Fall. 

Harvest (unranked)-Harvest sounds like the perfect name for Fall, as in harvesting crops for the Winter.

Maple (unranked)-If not Hazel, how about Maple? Maple conjures images of colorful maple trees. 

Octavia (#371)-Octavia has the same first three letters as October.

Pomeline (unranked)-Pomeline means "apple", which brings to mind the common Fall destination of apple orchards. 

Saffron (unranked)-Saffron means "golden", like Aurelia and Orla. Saffron makes a great alternative to popular Scarlett.

Topaz (unranked)-Topaz is the birthstone for November. Like Sapphire, it is a possible gemstone name.

BOYS' NAMES:

Adam (#91)-Adam is a timeless classic that means "red".

Birch (unranked)-Birch connects to a tree that can display golden leaves. 

Cedar (unranked)-Cedar is a tree name that can be used for boys and girls. 

Forest (#909)-Forest is derived from the word associated with trees. It is a shade of dark green, too.

Golden (unranked)-Golden is the male equivalent of Golda. 

Linden (unranked)-Linden is a tree name with leaves that can change color. 

Oak (unranked)-Oak connects to oak trees. 

Perry (unranked)-Perry comes from a surname meaning "pear tree."

Rowan (#118)-Rowan is an Irish unisex name meaning "little redhead".

Silas (#107)-Silas is likely a short form of Silvanus, which means "forest". Hence, this name connects to trees.
